May on the Moon

Posted by Top Gear Australia at 9:53 am on Wednesday June 24, 2009

James May’s awesome space documentary has aired in the UK, with Captain Slow breaking every speed limit in the UK by strapping to a giant rocket ship.

James May on the Moon is definitely worth watching just for his childish glee at bouncing around in the infamous Vomit Comet – a plane that recreates zero gravity – and to witness him gob-smacked, 70,000ft above the Earth in a U-2 spy plane.

Yet he wasn’t the only one – seeing the curvature of the Earth as he does is a TV gold moment.

The best thing about …on the Moon was that it’s the first part of seven.

Anyway, check out the trailer. It looks outstanding.

I can just picture Hammond, May and Clarkson down the pub at lunch time… So, what have you been up to? Ah, went on a low-orbit flight, and on the vomit-comet, experienced weightlessness, interviewed the astronauts who went to the moon, saw the Earth from space, did G-training. What about you? Oh, um, just drove a Bugatti Veyron. Bit dull, really.
    What lives they lead indeed.

That would be so damn cool. But I thohgt it would be Clarkson who’d do it, probably screaming powerrrrr! all the way. But the training seemed tough at one point I thought May’s face was going to forced out the back of ghis skull. And one last thing,. I LOVE it that he broke wind in space, its just like that ols saying as funny as a…

It was shown this week on BBC Knowledge on the Foxtel network – it didn’t held that the newspaper said it would be on UKTV….

If you’ve got foxtel keep an eye out for it as they will show it again.

Very intelligent our James…..and a pilot.Even an “average” jock would not have been able to do what he did at Nasa, money or not. Scary stuff on the body. I just need to look at water going past and vomit.
