TopGearers, it might be time to enter into a 10-day mourning period after hearing the news that there might be no new TopGear season until next year.
Yesterday, TopGear supremo Jeremy Clarkson suggested the show will break with tradition and won’t produce a new season for later this year. You can blame the London Olympics, most likely.
UPDATE 11/10/2012: Filming kicks-off for new, 2013 TopGear series
Talking to a South African radio program, Jezza said the upcoming Top Gear Live tour, expected to also visit Australia, would be the only time the three hosts work together this year.
“It is going to be, it better be absolutely fantastic, it’s also about the only time the three of us are working together this year because there’s no Top Gear on this year.”

Tell the BBC to get stuffed, what u should do is just make a the six months of the olympics a topgear olympic special, same sports as the olympics except have cars involved, have the TG australia guys involved, invite TG friends from other countries & There you go a topgear olympics.

Olympics is from 27 July until 12 August. By my count, that’s 17 days total.
BBC can’t use the days before then to prepare another season? Then, start the new Top Gear after the games?
Hell, the Olympics make a great background for Top Gear…world’s best athletes…world’s best car show…world’s best cars. Talk about passing up on opportunity.

I WILL miss it, but maybe not all together a bad things, they can make a mega Christmas Special, and they it will give them a chance to come back with some great new ideas, it has started to get a bit stale in places.
I don’t mind but a good idea would be to have double the amount of episodes in early 2013 so it will be like season 19 and 20 in one. To make up for no second season this year.
What an utterly appalling crock of sh1t. I hope – like literally, genuinely hope – that anvils fall on every single person involved with X Factor. If I wake up tomorrow and discover everyone on that show has been squished by heavy objects, I’ll be very happy.

This is just utter crap. I love watching TopGear and for a show which is based on (and the only reason it get’s ratings) nothing but Simon Cowell’s criticisms? I think there is something wrong with that. TopGear is by far the superior show and Clarkson is right. Why would anyone want to watch a show about fat people singing and trying to tell their sob stories.
Top Gear is the best show in the world and it sucks that I won’t see a new episode until 2013. I personally think it is because of the X factor.

Instead of playing season 19 next January, why can’t they churn out season 20 for next January and put on season 19 this year regardless? Who likes The X Factor anyway? Also, the BBC have 4 channels, they can find another timeslot, surely.

I can’t believe this, I am suffering from a Top Gear addiction, and there is so much re-runs you can watch, I’m actually starting to watch re-runs and switching off half way through because I have already seen it 5 or 6 times… Please, kick Cowell in the coit, and get me some new Top Gear…
I think it’s about time the BBC woke up to itself. Top Gear is one of the biggest shows on earth and watched all over the World. I beleive it’s the best show of all time. There is no way UK X factor could be anywhere near Top Gears international ratings. Come on BBC, Man Up!
